Who we are
Asteria Movement (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we look after your personal data when you visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from) and engage with our services. It tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
1. Important Information
Purpose of this Privacy Policy
This privacy policy aims to give you information on how Asteria Movement collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website when you sign up for our newsletter, register for a class, or purchase a service.
Controller
Asteria Movement is the controller and responsible for your personal data.
2. The Data We Collect About You
Personal Data
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:
Identity Data: Includes first name, last name, or similar identifier.
Contact Data: Includes email address.
Health Data: Includes any health information provided to ensure classes are suitable, tailor our services and for insurance purposes.
3. How is your data collected?
We use different methods to collect data from and about you, including through:
Direct Interactions: You may provide your Identity and Contact Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email, or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you subscribe to our newsletter, register for a class, request marketing to be sent to you, or give us feedback.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
4. How we use your personal data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
To register you for a class or event.
To manage our relationship with you, including notifying you about changes to our terms or privacy policy.
To enable you to partake in a prize draw, competition, or complete a survey.
To administer and protect our business and this website.
To deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you and measure or understand the effectiveness of the advertising we serve to you.
To make suggestions and recommendations to you about goods or services that may be of interest to you.
5. Data security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
6. Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
7. Embedded content and third party services
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
8. How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you register for our services we will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For health and related data necessary for insurance purposes, we retain information for 7 years.
9. What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you use our services, under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. These include the right to:
Request access to your personal data.
